Serving Memphis is a nonprofit organization operating in Memphis, TN. Serving Memphis was founded in 2012 by Wight Boggs, Sandy Robertson, and The Jay Uiberall Foundation in memory of three great local restaurateurs and humanitarians, Thomas Boggs of Huey’s, John Robertson and Jay Uiberall of Alfred’s, Automatic Slim’s, Catering for U, Dyer’s on Beale, and Ubee’s. The president of Serving Memphis is Mike Miller of Patrick's and the Vice President is Wight Boggs of Huey's. Serving Memphis identifies specific needs, such as health, finance, and education services, and partner with existing organizations to provide services which may otherwise be unavailable to those in the service industry. As a non-profit organization, Serving Memphis makes these connections, fosters individual and program growth and provides financial support where needed in hopes of bettering our industry and community. Our goal as an organization is to expand with our current programs, and branch out to offer a diverse selection of free programs and services.
Serving Memphis shall, without limitation, support organizations, individuals and activities that assist employees in the restaurant and hospitality industry to receive affordable, basic health care and wellness services, to enjoy hands-on educational opportunities, and as otherwise determined by the Board of Directors.
